Posted August 05, 2018 05:20:38The mountain goat is on the rise.
On Sunday, the mountain goat, which is named after a favorite sport in his home country of France, will be back in the US for his first-ever mountain biking race, the Mountain Goat Classic, the first of its kind.
The event, which takes place on the beautiful Colorado Riverfront at the iconic Denver Zoo, is expected to draw a crowd of about 5,000 to 10,000, according to organizers.
This year’s event will be the first time the goat has raced in a professional mountain biking event in the United States.
He’s ridden his way to a 5th place finish in his past three seasons, and will also face off against two other horses, a white and a black, at the 2018 Breeders’ Cup in New York.
The goat is a member of the legendary “Grand Tour,” the mountain biking elite that includes riders like Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather.
The race will take place in Boulder, Colo., near the Denver Zoo.
While the goat will be riding in the USA, his home nation of France will be his primary focus, with other racing events in France, the UK and Italy, as well as his home town of Paris, taking up his time.
The mountain goats’ popularity is in part due to the French Alps, a rugged mountain landscape with an endless variety of terrain.
He also enjoys riding in a variety of conditions, from snowboarding to downhill mountain biking, and many riders refer to him as “the French goat.”
A member of France’s national horse team, the French national team has won five Tour de France medals, including a bronze in 2015.
The goat is one of only six horses to compete in the Tour de Italy every year.
The French race is held in three stages: the first, in September, is for the top four riders in the first week, with the rest of the top riders racing for the overall win.
The top three riders from each stage will race for a trophy and an appearance in the Paris-Nice World Championships.
